Tweeps Applauds Thuli Phongolo Amidst The Assault Ordeal

Her not issuing a media statement but going straight to the police have earned her respect

Amidst he news of former Generations actress and club DJ Thuli Phongolo reporting a case of assault from boyfriend, DJ Maphorisa. Scores of tweeps and people at large have since applauded Phongolo for taking matters to the authorities and not social media.

Although under very unusual and rather difficult circumstances but a number of Thuli Phongolo's fans, followers and tweeps at large have handed her the flowers, following how she handled her abuse ordeal. Often in time people run to social media with media statements and neglect the core and fundamental step of taking their matters to their nearest police station for serious and law attention.

"I like what Thuli Phongolo did, she went to the authorities. She didn’t write a twitter thread or go live on instagram nonsense. She opened a CASE and that is how it must be done." wrote Mo Mogoda

Tweeps are more so proud of Phongolo for not making a big deal on social media, where she could have easily opened herself up for further scrutiny, judgment and crusifixion.

The reported argument that resulted to a physical brawl between Phongolo and music producer boyfriend DJ Maphorisa. A case of assault have since been laid against DJ Maphorisa with the Sandton Police. Reportedly, Maphorisa is due to appears to the Randburg Magistrates Court after he was apprehended on Sunday for allegedly assaulting Phongolo at her Sandton residence.

She told the police that when she confronted Maphorisa, "he became aggressive and slapped her in the face. She described how he turned her into a punching bag after the slap on the face. He became aggressive and started to punch me with his fists on my chest. He held me and took me to the balcony, and grabbed me aggressively by my neck"

Thuli mentioned how Maphorisa allegedly hit her with his elbow on the balcony while they were fighting for her phone, which he had taken from her
