The internationally renowned Comedian and TV host Trevor Noah has slammed the American socialite and businesswoman Kim Kardashian following the advice that Kim shared in a recent interview with Variety.
“I have the best advice for women in business. Get your f**ken a*ses up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days,” Kim said.
This sparked outrage on social media, and many people have since called Kim out putting her at the top of the trending topics on Twitter today.
Reacting to Kim's piece of advice, Trevor said, “Here's the thing that maybe Kim Kardashian doesn't understand. It can come off as extremely condescending to tell women the reason they are not successful is because they are too lazy to get off their a*ses and actually work.
"Because, yes, Kim Kardashian works hard, but you know who else works hard? Women. But you know what a*ses don't have? It's Kim's luck to be born into a rich family with the famous lawyer parents and even more famous olympian step-parents, and all the access and connections that that brings you.”
Kim also reacted to the notion that she is famous for being famous. She told the publication, "Who gives a f***. We focus on the positive. We work our a**** off. If that’s what you think, then sorry. We just don’t have the energy for that. We don’t have to sing or dance or act; we get to live our lives - and hey, we made it. I don’t know what to tell you."
Several women have since come forward following the Kardashian-Jenner interview. They claim that they worked for Kim for years without pay.
Meanwhile, Trevor Noah has previously opened up about growing up in poverty. “Here’s the thing that I always say to people. Being poor in a group or in a community that is poor is not as bad as being poor when you know what you’re missing out on. So when I grew up, we played with bricks as cars. And you’d smash them into each other. And it was one of the most fun games I’ve ever played,” said Noah.
He also shared that at some point, his family had to survive on Mopane worms because they couldn't afford to buy chicken. “The same thing with eating mopane worms. What I didn’t like was when we couldn’t eat anything else and my mom said, ‘We’re gonna have to eat these mopane worms for longer because we don’t have money to buy chicken."
