Unathi Breaks Her Silence After Being Fired At Kaya FM 959

Three months later after Kaya FM 959 made headlines following the booting of station manager, Sibongile Mtyali. Unathi finally breaks her silence after she was also fired from the radio station allegedly as the hands of Sizwe Dhlomo.

Sizwe Dhlomo trended on social media after the story broke where the station manager at Kaya 959 was reportedly sacked. It was revealed that he had a problem with sports presenter Mpho Maboi and they were not seeing eye to eye.

Unathi sits down with Garreth Cliff on Uncancelled to spoke extensively on how she was unknowingly sacked by the radio station. Unathi reveals how she was blindsided when Kaya FM 959 sent out a press release informing the public of her departure. And how her mother advised her not to sue amidst the heat on an all time high.

“Six minutes after ten, they have sent out the press out ‘you fire the bitch’ first person I called is my mom. She’s like you are going to sue them, I said no I am not. She says you are going to sue them, I said no I am not. You gonna use this constitution that we have which is one of the best in the world and you gonna sue, do you hear me? So I go ‘ewe mama’. said Unathi

Unathi has also spoke about the most vigorous and painful year of therapy of her life because while inserting that she lost everything due to a one sided story. In her statements, Unathi explained what the root cause of their problems were. “The only matter I will address because it is very important to me is the theme of GBV that keeps on coming up.”

Unathi told Garreth Cliff that her father was the major reason why she never sued Kaya FM. Her father assured her that in due time they will turn on each and Unathi should sit back and watch.

“David calls me, he says mom and dad have spoken to me. They have told me you don’t want to sue, they are telling me that you are going to sue, so we are suing [laughs]. My dad was like you are not going to touch them for at least a year. So I am like why? He is like, they are going to turn on each other. I a like daddy there is no way they are going to turn on each other. He said to me ‘mntanami, our people have told me that I must tell you, you are going to wait a year and let them turn on each on each other. So when they fired Sibongile, my dad said ‘now you can go [laughs]” said Unathi
