After getting fired on Kaya 959 for her beef with Sizwe Dlomo, Unathi also made headlines when it was revealed she parted ways with Idols SA too.
Just last week she told fans that they will soon hear her on radio but kept mum about which station she will be in.
Now, in a statement quoted by TshisaLive, Unathi revealed that from March 1, fans will have to tune into Star 91.9 FM, weekdays from 3pm to 6pm.
“I am looking forward to a fresh new format of radio that I have never before attempted. To be able to speak to my community, from my community, and for my community — priceless! Being able to speak to a multicultural community is also something that I’m truly excited about because that’s the heart of radio — the heart of Joburg,” she said.
“I’m so excited about this new chapter and definitely ready for the wild ride that is going to be the All-Star Drive.”
Her co-host Justin Toerien also commented on Unathi's new gig and anticipated a fun ride, “Expect loud, funny, passionate, bold — oh and did I mention loud? We are eager to make magic on the airwaves and guarantee a good laugh...all the way home.”
Unathi left Kaya in a very bitter note because of her "fight" with Sizwe Dlomo.
She spoke about the incident on a video, “The only matter I will address because it is very important to me is the theme of GBV that keeps on coming up."
“This all started when Sizwe made reference to GBV in South Africa in one of his many posts about me, but GBV had nothing to do with the matter. I never alleged at any time that Sizwe committed any act of gender-based violence against me, Sizwe knows this, Kaya knows this,” she said.
“For the record, Sizwe and I both submitted in writing allegations against each other. Some founded and some were found not to be, from both of us. I have handed the matter against Kaya to handle legally.
“In closing, Sizwe and I are not friends, I have decided to distance myself from him the day he decided it was okay to say on air that my marriage failed because of the way I allow my children to prepare umphokoqo wabo.”
