Vusi Kunene has finally left Generations: The Legacy. His last scene aired yesterday, 12 May 2021. Jack Maboso joined the trending topic yesterday as the Generations: The Legacy character played by award-winning actor Vusi Kunene was finally exiting the show.

Vusi Kunene’s exit from the show saw his character being brutally killed after intruders got in his home and held his family hostage.

Tweeps took to Twitter streets to react to Jack Maboso’s passing. Here are few reactions from Twitter.

Generation: The Legacy publicist, Nandipha Pantsi previously confirmed the news of Vusi Kunene’s exit to Daily Sun. Nandipha told the publication that he resigned and will be pursuing other endeavors. “Vusi Kunene is leaving the show to pursue other ventures. His last and final episode will air later this year in May.”

Speaking about his character, Vusi Kunene also told the publication: “I’ve always had a serious passion for Jack. He is the most popular character I have ever played and bringing him to life has been a pleasure. I’m really going to miss everyone because Generations is like a family. It’s not one person’s work, it’s all our work. We all pull together and that’s what makes it so special.”

The actor was part of Generations which was later rebranded to Generations: The Legacy back in 2014. He joined Generations: The Legacy in 2015 and has been with the show ever since.

Other top South African shows that he has starred in include State of Violence (2010) Paradise Stop (2011), Elelwani (2012), Isidingo (2009-2014) as Jefferson Sibeko, Isibaya (2012-2016), A United Kingdom (2016) as Chief Tshekedi Khama just to mention a few.

In 2011, he was honored with the Golden Horn Award for Best Actor for the drama Soul City. In 2016 he received another Golden Horn Award for Best Actor in a TV Soap for Isibaya. Other awards under his belt include Avanti Trophy back in 1999 for the Best Actor - Drama Series Justice for All (1998).
