South Africans can breathe a sigh of relief because our very own national treasure is about to land on home turf. Reigning Miss Universe Zizibini Tunzi land sin South Africa on Saturday,  8 February and the whole country can't wait for her arrival!

Zozibini claimed the Miss Universe crown in a star-studded crowning held at Atlanta last year. Since then she has been basking in the success of the Miss Universe crown in the Big Apple all while fulfilling her duties as Miss Universe.

Her homecoming is set to take place this weekend and will culminate with an appearance in Parliament as a special guest during President Cyril Ramaphosa's State of the Nation Address in Cape Town.

According to a statement released by her team, Zozibini will be welcomed by a delegation of government officials including Minister of Communications and Telecommunications, Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams and current Miss South Africa Sasha-Lee Olivier.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend from 07:00 am. Her welcoming will include a performance by the Soweto Gospel Choir . In a statement, she said “This win hasn’t just been about me. I share it with all South Africans and I have been counting the days until I can celebrate this achievement with my people in the spirit of Mzansi,”

Fans who wish to attend the welcoming at the airport will be able to travel free of charge via the Gautrain from Pretoria, Midrand, Marlboro, and Park Stations. To gain access to the OR Tambo bound train, passengers will have to say: 'Gautrain took me there'.

Zozibini was expected to land in South Africa this past weekend for the Subb Me but could not make it. We look forward to breathing the same air with her.
