Arthur Mafokate was one of South Africa's most respected musician's but after his ex, Cici accused him of allegedly dragging her with a car in his Midrand home during an argument, his image has been tainted.
The past couple of months have been filled with court battles between the exes and Cici won the first round when a judge found her not guilty of a countercase Mafokate laid against her.
Last week, Mafokate was on the stand for allegedly assaulting Cici and according to a report on Sowetan, the musician reportedly broke down when Cici detailed the abuse she has been through.
The publication alleges that Cici told the court that all she wanted was an apology from Mafokate.
In the height of the drama, Arthur Mafokate was reportedly fired from the board of SAMRO in a public statement, “In the SAMRO board meeting held on the 28 June of 2018, the board resolved that notice be given to Mr Mafokate of the decision to initiate the process to remove him from the SAMRO board as a non-executive director,” read the statement in part.
Arthur Mafokate is not the first celebrity accused of domestic abuse, a couple of months ago, Skeem Saam's, Shoki Sebotsane accused her estranged husband, Sello, of allegedly abusing her.
