In the video, the controversial star is heard singing about mourning following the untimely passing of her husband Mandla "Mampintsha" Maphumulo. It is no secret that following Mampintsha's burial, Babes has been booked and busy with gigs.
As many have been calling for her to dust herself up and reclaim her throne, Wololo hitmaker has decided to do so. On New Year's Eve, she was praised by social media users at a packed New Year's Eve party.
The star performed Big Nuz's summer hit Ngeke. The stage was on fire during her performance and social media users couldn't stop gushing over her performance. However, it seems as though many are changing their tune.
In a video making the rounds on social media Babs is heard singing a cringeworthy verse about mourning and drinking. "Mina ngzilile, kodwa ngyay'phuzela," she sings as the crowd cheers.
Facebook users have reacted to the video with mixed reactions.
Tem N Shongwe wrote "Judging from the lyrics it's most likely kuthiwe nje milk this hype now mama to get back into the market while you are still trending. We PR people will not see heaven. People were already going to support her in rebuilding her career, she didn't need these lyrics"
Nthabiseng Bembe commented "She is hiding her pain I am talking from experience. The next minute I was bedridden with a swollen back, and couldn't move. Because I didn't allow myself to go through the pain of losing a parent. I understand we mourn people differently if this helps her heal allow her to do it freely"
Siboniso TooNice Latha wrote "Its not a laughing matter, I hope those who are close to her are monitoring her situation closely and find the help that she needs"
Pitso Matlala commented "I repeat...acting strong during mourning period has killed many people...I feel for her..the aftermath of this..people will be saying "u Shimora is ghosting her"next thing she will be depressed more than she is now...this is no longer about how Shimora would like to see her..when depression starts it doesn't come with it written on someone's body."
