Babes Extends Olive Branch To Mampintsha’s Mother

The hug for the first time since his death was announced.

It would seem that Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Maphumulo has grown up a lot since her Instagram Live and Twitter rant days. Gone are the days when she would use social media to vent her feelings and attack those she believes that have attacked her publicly.

Specifically, the manner in which Babes Wodumo would handle the outbursts directed towards her by her late husband’s mother’s Zamanguni “MaGumede” Gumede. This is as despite the drama sparked by MaGumede’s insults and accusations she directed at Babes. 
 
She decided to  be the bigger person between the two. A stance which comes after Babes initially attempted to make a truce with MaGumede during the second season of the Showmax reality show Uthando Lodumo. 

Babes extends olive branch to Mampintsha’s mother

During the funeral service of Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo Shimora was the first time that wife and fellow Gqom legend, Babes Wodumo, publicly spoke on the impact of the death of her husband. In true Babes form, she joked about her husband dying without her knowing the password to his phone. 
 
Moreover, she finally addressed MaGumede and the many accusations she has thrown at Babes since the news of Mampintsha having a stroke were made public. Instead of countering the attacks, Babes first thanked Mampintsha’s father for the manner in which he has supported her during this time. 
 
Babes than addressed Mampintsha’s mother by asking for forgiveness for any transgression on her side that might have resulted in her being so upset. She then asked if they could call a truce. A stance that drew zero reaction from MaGumede. 
 
However, it took the MC instigating that Babes Wodumo to hug MaGumede which finally saw her have a reaction as the two hugged. Whether this is the beginning of a truce between the Simelanes and the Maphumulos remains to be seen.

MaGumede alleged denied access to Mampintsha’s body

It is rumoured that Mampintsha’s mother, Zamanguni Gumede, has been denied access to her son's body. Mampintsha passed away on Saturday after he suffered a stroke last week. Zamanguni apparently went to Westville to see Mampintsha's body to be able to believe that he had passed, but she was not permitted to.
 
Babes Wodumo's sister Nondumiso Simelane is the one who has the documents that stipulate who can and cannot see his body, according to Ezivuthayo Emaputaland.
 
MaGumede dramatic entrance at Mampintsha’s funeral service

Zamanguni Gumede, the mother of the late Mandla 'Mampintsha' Maphumulo, has raised eyebrows after arriving late at the funeral service of her son.
 
Friends, families, and industry colleagues have gathered at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban for the late star's final send-off.
 
As mourners were seated and a speaker was on stage paying tribute to the fallen hero, Zama made a dramatic grand entrance. She sat silently in the front row, and it was obvious they were at loggerheads with Babes Wodumo's family.
