Self proclaimed Gqom queen Bongekile Simelane, popularly known as Babes Wodumo and her hubby Mandla "Mampintsha" Maphumulo, are no strangers to hogging headlines for the wrong reasons.

The couple has found themselves trending once again, after Babes went on a "drunk" rant on her Instagram account and hurled insults at Mampintsha's mother.

Babes made some wild accusations against Mampintsha's mom Zama Gumede, accusing her of dumping Mampintsha when he was only 3 days old. Babes seemed to have been bottle-feeding a lot of emotions, and yesterday she seemed very eager to let them go.

The mother of one said she hopes her son Sponge does not inherit Mampintsha's character when he grows up. Her live left her legion of fans concerned that she might have had a mental breakdown or she was drunk when she recorded it. Babes called her mother in law all kinds of names and said she was a b*tch.

Tweeps have even accused Mampintsha of being a weak man. Others are blaming him Babe's behaviour, while others say he should reprimand his wife to not speak ill about his mom and even reveal their secrets.

Babes Wodumo and her mother-in-law have been at loggerheads for a while now. This comes after Mampintha's mother accused her of faking her pregnancy.

Gumede claimed Babes was not pregnant and she used a sponge to fake her pregnancy. She even lashed out at Babe’s family and said her father is a criminal disguised as a man of God.

She later took to the papers to apologise for dragging Babes. “At the end of the day, she is my daughter-in-law, and we have to iron out issues and move past. Mandla is my son, and if he chooses Babes Wodumo, then there’s nothing I can do. I want to apologise to her in person, and we move on as a family. I want to be a responsible mother to both of them,” she told Briefly News.

But after Babes threatened to press charges against Zama, I am going to press charges against her for humiliating me in public and for swearing at me. I don't understand why she is dragging my name in the mud.”

"I am pregnant, whether she likes it or not. If she has problems with it, she must deal with it. I am hurt about this. I know most of the things she says when she is drunk should not be taken seriously, but this time she has gone too far. I am going to press charges against her. I want her to clear my name,” Babes told Daily News.

in a twist of events, Babes has apologized for the strong language she used on the live video and explained that the live was part of a publicity stunt to promote her EP. The musician is set to release an EP called Crown on Friday

“Due to the late release of the Crown EP, I had to draw your attention to the point where I give you a taste of part 2 of Sponge Wodumo's story. The one you'll saw just before Uthando Lodumo was shown on Showmax.

I'm sorry to those who I might have offended. Due to the strong language I had no choice but to do it around that time to protect my younger fans,” read the statement.
