Gqom musician Njabulo Biggie Zondi, who succumbed from a chronic heart condition, will be laid to rest this Sunday in KwaMashu, Durban. Speaking to ZAlebs, his best friend Dladla Mshunqisi said, he is still devastated by his loss.
"He will be laid to rest on Sunday in Kwamashu, he said. The Covid-19 funeral regulations only allow 50 mourners at a funeral, and this heart-wrenching because many would have loved to bid farewell to him, but they have to adhere to the new regulations.
"The family is struggling because people also want to come to his funeral, but we cannot break the law," he said.
Dladla recently told Daily Sun that Biggie had many plans to shine in the music industry. "I always encouraged him to push, He was talented and ambitious. We were very close. He was a true friend of mine."
Biggie was known for his bursting energy, and distinctive voice in the gqom genre. The Lokishi Lam hitmaker, and Dladla Mshunqisi were completely inseparable.
In an interview, he had with a local radio station in Durban, Biggie spoke about how they used to entertain people at a tender age at events with Dladla. He said he loved him, and they have been friends in ages.
