Social media is abuzz with news that award-winning duo Black Motion, has apparently split up! According to entertainment commentator Musa Khawula, Bongani Mohosana who is affectionately known as Murdah Bongz, has rebranded and he now goes by the name of Morda.

Black Motion is an award winning duo composed of Bongani Mohosana and percussionist Thabo "Smol" Mabogwane. The duo has become a force to be reckoned in the industry, having released several chart breaking albums and won several prestigious awards, their talent is just pure and their music is timeless.

They formed the group in 2010 and in 2011 they released their debut album titled Talking to the Drums. The duo was discovered by Oskido while playing in Angola but at the time they were already at the peak of their careers, as they were touring around the world.

According to Musa Khawula, the duo recently canceled a show in New York after apparently splitting up. "The duo recently canceled a show in New York and at another gig Thabo was booked alone without Bongani Mohasana," he claims.

Fans were left devastated by the news especially because they have had the nation on its feet with their hit songs for over a decade now. Murdah reacted to this when asked by a fan and he poured cold water on the rumours.

They have also shared that they will be making an announcement later today.

In 2020 the duo released their album called The Healers: The Last Chapter and they sparked rumours that they were going their separate ways. Speaking to the Sowetan, the duo shed more light about their album's title and said it was simply a chapter that is coming to an end.

“The story has unfolded like a book and the albums we have released over the years have been chapters,” Smol told the publication.

“This is the last chapter of the first 10 years and now we are moving into a new book.

“This is us saying we are closing the book of trying to establish our mark in the industry and we are moving on to a more comfortable zone of artistic freedom.”

It is common to see artists going their separate ways in the industry, but it can be heartbreaking to their legion of fans. We have seen a number of them decided to pursue solo careers.
