South African rapper and entrepreneur Boity Thulo is heartbroken following the passing of her grandfather.

Taking to her Twitter shared a clip of her grandfather with her grandmother and captioned it. "My grandma’s best friend, my Papa has gone to sleep. Although far too soon and unexpected, May it be an eternal and peaceful rest." Messages of condolences are pouring in for the musician and her family following the sad news.Several ZAlebs have had to endure the pain of losing their loved ones this year including Natasha Thahane. The actress recently lost her grandmother and she took to her Instagram account to share the news.
Comedian Trevor Noah also lost his grandmother Frances Noah who passed away aged 95.
Trevor said every moment he got to spend with his grandma was magical. "My grandmother was born in 1927 and even though she was 95 years old, she still had the best memory of us all. Every moment spent with her felt like a magical journey through time where she would recount all of the family’s greatest joys, losses, achievements and milestones. "
Her house in Soweto, according to Trevor wasn't just a home but a place of refuge.
"Her house in Soweto wasn’t just a home, it was a refuge, a place where other women would come when they had no other place to go, a place where members of the community would gather to pray together every single week, a place where everyone was guaranteed to feel the love emanating from her mighty chest."
Just recently she remembered her and paid tribute to her for giving him perspective “She gave me perspective. I think that was something she always did for myself, for my family; she put things into perspective. When you have lived for nine decades, the perspective you have on progress ... progressive ideas on improving your life as a person, whatever it may be, the perspective you have is a really interesting one,” said Trevor in the Instagram video.

“Today was a good day. I haven’t cried, which is a change, but I do feel hollow and empty, and nothing seems like it matters. It is weird because I had a good day, now I have guilt like I loved my mother less because I didn’t have a bad day today”,
He continued: “The mourning process is going. It’s a bit of a roller coaster ride, but I just want to say, I’m burying my mother on Thursday, never ever prepares you for that, but I loved her too much for her to have to bury me, so I’ll take this, But it's not easy. I'll never be the same again."
