Bujy is accused of hurling a bottle at Boity's face and he has apologized for his actions. In a statement, the radio host said he could have handled the situation differently

" I would like to apologize to everyone for my reaction in the situation. I regret that it happened and also accept the occurrence as unacceptable behavior, and I could have handled the situation differently and not have it escalate to the levels  it has from either myself or the said complainant and I do not condone any acts of violence by any person including myself."

He said he will not be commenting further regarding the case and said even though he is facing assault allegations everyone has the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

" I would  like to not comment much going forward ads the matter is now sub judice. therefore  I would not want to jeopardize the working of the justice system by going into further details, compromising witnesses and getting into the merits o the case as those will be ventilated in court. Even with the presence of overwhelming evidence. It is still allegations and everyone has the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty,"

Bujy has also revealed that he has put the "Queer Way Life with Bujy" podcast on hold until further notice. Bujy topped the Twitter trends list after an image of a bloodied Boity went viral on social media.

An audio of them moments before the altercation arguing also went viral. Tweeps are calling for him to be canceled following the incident.

In a first statement released in response to the assault allegations, he stated that he was also injured during the scuffle. "I have been accused of GBV which in no way sits well with me as I have been labelled as an abuser which I am not and it saddens me to see how this has spiraled out with people believing and siding with one side of a story.

I was verbally abused and told that my surname has no relation to who I am and because of that, that is why my career is not going anywhere in terms of growth, in fact “what is it that I do in the media industry because I’m actually nothing!”

Furthermore, during a verbal confrontation, I was then physically assaulted being kicked and punched while being told that (“I’m a man, I’m a man”) I must take it. The pain and suffering of having to let a woman abuse me verbally and physically while trying to contain myself and holding her hands to stop was not enough, until witnesses managed to defuse the situation. That did not make matters subtle, as it was continued that I was insulted." he said.
