Last weekend Benny Mayengani hosted an event called #FillUpGiyaniStadium in Limpopo and because of its huge success, Cassper Nyovest caught wind of the show and was unimpressed with his decision to name it after his FillUp concerts.

Since 2014, Cassper Nyovest has consistently hosted iconic concerts at Gauteng’s biggest stadiums, dubbing his concerts to be ‘Fill Up’ concerts. On Thursday evening, EFF leader Julius Malema took his social media alluding to the fact that Cassper Nyovest was a bully for finding Mayengani’s concert name choice problematic.

Speaking to Metro FM in a recent interview, the rapper said that he had allegedly trademarked the name, however, he chose to keep mum on the situation until his lawyers' delt with it.

“In terms of the event...we trademarked it about a year ago, just to protect our ideas, we’ve been growing..I noticed there were people that wanted to take the chance of using the phrase fill up...I never accused anybody, I haven't said anything, I was quiet for the past few days.”

Cassper Nyovest went on to reveal that his lawyers had contacted Mayengani prior to his event, asking him to change the name as the rapper had already owned the one he chose to use.

“My lawyers contacted the dude Benny a few months ago saying that: “Yo dude we are aware of what you’re doing, at least alter the name of the event because this is trademarked, there are legalities to this thing, you can even say it in your language do something but don't do the hashtag fill up whatever cause its trademarked…’"

Reiterating his points expressed in a series of recent tweets, Cassper Nyovest said that he was not upset with the Limpopo resident but simply wanted to protect his idea so that he could continue building it to become bigger.

“I’d like to congratulate him, I wish he used a different name, not the fill up, cause I own that...I don't have any hate towards him or his career because I started this to inspire people and it's beautiful to see people inspired...I’d just like to protect my idea…I don’t care about the money that he made, we should all make money, I’m not trying to make money from anybody, the same way I feel that he shouldn’t make money from my idea,” said Cassper
