Moreover, despite her international success, the star has been involved in philanthropic work in South Africa by using her fame as leverage to raise awareness on matters like HIV/ AIDS locally.
As such, her stance extends even into the celebration of drag queens in the US. This is as there is a push to have drag queens banned in some states in the US.
In light of this fact, Charlize added her voice advocating against this push.
However, veteran American host Megyn Kelly, who Theron played in the 2019 film Bombshell, threatened hands when Charlize said she would f*ck up anyone looking to support this law.

Safe to say, South Africans and the general public were quick to make it clear that their support and money is on Charlize to win the fight. More so given that she herself watched her mother shoot her father in self-defence.
However, what has been questioned in light of her recent drama was her parenting.
Charlize Theron’s parenting questioned in light of trans daughter
Charlize Theron has two adopted two daughters. The youngest is August Theron, who is seven years old turning eight years old in July 2023.
However, her eldest daughter, Jackson Theron, is the site of debate. This is as she was born male. However, when Charlize adopted her at seven, she supported her daughter’s transition. Back in 2019, she spoke about her decision as reported then:
“Yes, I thought she was a boy, too…Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said: "I am not a boy!" So there you go! I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive.
My job as a parent is to celebrate them and to love them and to make sure that they have everything they need in order to be what they want to be. And I will do everything in my power for my kids to have that right and to be protected within that.”
As the image of her children has gone viral again on social media. The public has taken to the comments section to share their polarised opinions of her choice.
On the one hand she is being called a “bad mother.” While on the other hand, there are those that support her decision to allow her children to be whomever they want to be.
