Following a 20 year marriage, Thabiso Sikwane, Thato DJ Fresh' Sikwane's wife, has reportedly filed for divorce. The couple got married on 11 September 2002, but their marriage seems to have hit rock bottom by 2021.

Sunday World, claims to have received intel from a close friend to the power couple, who revealed that Thabiso no longer has affection for the radio personality and has decided to put an end to their relationship.

“She no longer loves him and they were no longer communicating like husband and wife for a while now.” According to the source, Thabiso discussed the matter with her family and children.

“She had outgrown Thato and wants to start all over again this year.”

“So when she told him that she wanted out of their marriage, he tried to convince her to rekindle their love, but she refused and told him that she had made up her mind," said the source. The two still live in the same house and DJ Fresh has apparently promised to leave their marital home once the divorce is finalized.

DJ Fresh hogged the news headlines in 2021 after he was embroiled in an alleged rape scandal. This follows after rape allegations were levelled against him and Euphonik. A woman by the name of @Nampree alleged that DJ Fresh and Euphonik drugged and raped her along with three other women.

Nampree said she kept this rape incident a secret for an undisclosed period, but with the assistance of anxiety pills, she found the courage to come forward. Because she was allegedly drugged, Nampree said she couldn't know for sure whether both Euphonik and DJ Fresh had raped her. However she was adamant that she was raped by either of them.

"@DJFreshSA & @euphonik will you ever acknowledge drugging me & further raping me? I was completed drugged I don't (know) whether you BOTH raped me or 1 of you did & you later laughed about it the next morning saying we (me & 3 girls) were so drunk we kept blacking out but nasidlwengula (you raped us)" she tweeted.

She further revealed that she was a virgin when all of this took place, "Just so you know? I was a virgin when y'all did that to me."

Speaking to IOL, DJ Fresh refuted these claims, saying he was hurt that these allegations were made again. He told the publication that he did not know these women and flatly denied raping these women.

“I am aware that assertions have been made about me on social media and I understand that this is often the price of being in the public eye. The fact that these claims are untrue and from an unknown source, does not make them less hurtful,” Fresh told IOL.

“I am deeply concerned that spurious allegations about Gender-Based Violence , especially as it is one of the most significant societal challenges in South Africa, undermine the gravity of legitimate incidents, and impact the urgency with which they are attended. Each time someone succumbs to the temptation of using GBV to further personal agendas, the cause to eradicate this scourge takes a step backwards.“

The radio personality was then fired from 947 following the rape allegations. In February 2021 DJ Fresh and Euphonik in a joint statement revealed that the rape charges against them had been dropped by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) due to insufficient evidence.
