And sure enough the hashtag #BringBackDJFresh was trending with complaints about the breakfast show, not being the same without it's host. Some fans, also threatened to boycott the station if their demands were not met.
Now, the popular radio personality has finally responded to questions about his return to Metro FM after being suspended, telling followers that he is not sure when he will be back on air.
Excuse me, sir? Could you repeat that?
Yep. Seems like the radio star is in the dark about how long his suspension is too.
SABC spokesperson Vuyo Mthembu confirmed to TshisaLIVE that Fresh had not been commissioned but could not comment on when he would return.
Mr Sikwane [DJ Fresh] has been unscheduled on Metro FM until further notice. At this point we cannot confirm when Mr Sikwane will return to air. This is a matter between the SABC and Mr Sikwane and we are not in a position to comment further.
But what is a world without DJ Fresh in the morning? Metro FM surely know by now, that their respected listeners are unwelcoming to change. Remember chaos that ensued after Metro FM made changes to the lineup for the new year? Exactly.
