Mzansi was recently shook when Giyani star Rami Chuene recently exposed an abusive madam for mistreating her helper. Although she kept the identity of the madam secret, she had enough receipts, in the form of screenshots, to ignite social media against the unkind treatment.
The post attracted a lot of criticism, and started a conversation on how the rich treat their domestic employees. The abuse ranged from financial, in the form of petty salary deductions, to psychological. And tweeps were rightfully enraged.

But in the midst of all the uproar, only one person stepped up to offer any assistance, and everyone noticed it immediately. It was DJ Lamiez Holworthy who stood up and offered to pay the helper’s salary for the month, after her madam had deducted most of it.
My heart sank reading this thread. I really hope she’s able to get the necessary legal help.

Tweeps are still in awe of her generosity. Sure, joining the uproar would have been great, which is what most of the social media users who saw the conversation did. But Lamiez set herself apart by being the only one to take the opportunity to take real action, rather than talk about it endlessly like everyone else.
Majority of tweeps were asking Rami to release the madam’s identity so she could be dragged online, which may have given them a sense of justice, but would not have solved the helper’s problem.
It is no secret that Lamiez has a beautiful heart. This is not the first time she is making headlines for going out of her way in an act of kindness. She recently warmed our hearts when she gifted a single mother and her son with an all expenses paid two day trip to the Blyde River Canyon in Mpumalanga.

The saga with the mistreatment must have struck a chord with the DJ, especially since she and her helper have one of the best relationships we have seen of that kind. In fact, she and her hubby Khuli Chana just recently put their helper on her first flight. It is also clear that they take her with them when they travel far away, which signals how much they consider her part of their core family.
But she has also been put through a lot, particularly online, despite her kind heart. She is often bullied and body shamed online, but she is growing thick skin to shut out all the hate.
She is handling it all with such grace, though. She just bought herself a hot new set of wheels, and sis has earned it. She definitely deserves the baby girl treatment, and we hope this is just one in a long line of many wins to come.
