DJ Maphorisa is no stranger to online controversy and trolling. In fact, he often starts it himself, as he has done recently with one Facebook post.
Phori went online to throw some veiled shade.
“Big difference between hype n talent,” his post read.

The comments were immediately aflame with social media users trying to guess who the shade was aimed at. Multiple comments suggested that the DJ considers himself the talent, while Uncle Waffles, the newest DJ sensation on the block, is just the hype.
This is not the first time that Uncle Waffles is getting a lot of flak from people who think she is only a gimmick but has no true talent. And although many celebrities have come out to defend her, and Pearl Thusi even declared herself Waffles’ biggest fan girl, the hate keeps coming. They think that without the song Adiwele, she would have no career.
Others had different ideas of why DJ Maphorisa was targeting with his comment. Another common guess was that he meant JazziQ, a fellow DJ. Tweeps have tied the two together in beef recently, when JazziQ shared pictures of himself and DJ Maphorisa’s alleged girlfriend, Thuli Phongolo, looking cute and cozy together.
Fans immediately concluded that the pictures meant Thuli P had dumped Phori for JazziQ. It got even worse when a video was recorded of DJ Maphorisa looking disoriented at a performance, and tweeps concluded that he was crying over the gorgeous actress. It is no surprise, therefore, that fans would think Phori was dissing JazziQ.

It is clear that Madumane’s fans took the post as an opportunity to start multiple little twars in the comments section. Even Cassper Nyovest caught a few stray arrows, when a fan suggested that he was merely the hype while A Reece is actual talent.
The rapper has had a rough week as tweeps have trolled him relentlessly. His stint as the host of The Braai Show With Cass has recorded plummeting views, and tweeps now think he is just not talented as a show host. They believe he has thrown the show to the dogs, and it should be taken away from him.
Whoever Phori meant by his comment, the unspecific shade has ended badly for him too. One tweep turned the comment on him, saying that he is just hype, and Kabza De Small is the real talent.
The comment does not come as a surprise, especially since very recently, on his birthday, the DJ was caught faking views for his song.

At this rate, Phori may have to come out and clarify who he meant by that comment before he inadvertently starts a war online.
