It is no secret that Uncle Waffles is riding the Adiwele wave straight to the bank. Ever since a video went viral, and was even shared by global superstar rapper Drake, of her spinning and dancing to the hit song by Young Stunna featuring Kabza De Small, she has been all the way up in her career. She just recently shared images and videos of herself having a marvelous time in Ghana, where she had a performance at a venue that sold out.
She has been on a tour that will see her visit and perform in five African countries, starting with Ghana and ending with Nigeria. From her social media feeds, it is clear that she has international audiences eating out of the palm of her hand. She recently went online to share how emotional she was feeling after receiving overwhelming love and appreciation from her fans.

One thing about me, I’ll cry about the love I receive. Bc damn,” she wrote.

Her sentiments are probably about Namibia, as she had performances there on 12th and 13th of November. At the writing of this article, she has wrapped up in Namibia and should be headed up to Tanzania, for performances on 19th and 20th November, before heading off to Kenya.

In addition to the love she is receiving for her stage presence and DJ skills, she is also being lauded for her empathy and consideration of others, particularly in the LGBTQ+ community. She has been lauded by fellow DJ and TV director, Ms Party, who identifies as part of the community. Apparently, Uncle Waffles was considerate enough to confirm Ms Party’s pronouns when she was introducing the act on stage. Not many would think to do that, and Ms Party was grateful that it showed how thoughtful the dancing DJ is.

It is about time for Uncle Waffles to be experiencing so much love for her craft, although it is unfortunate that she had to go outside to find it. The young talent has been through a rough two months since she blew up overnight. Her name has been dragged through the mud multiple times, like that time haters went online to call her talentless, and to say her Adiwele “gimmick” would get old and her fame would run out.
The attacks even reached her team -- her agent/manager, her promoters and everyone else she works with. Allegations of sexual grooming flew around, and eventually she had to address it and come to their defense.

She has clearly been through a lot in such a short amount of time. But it is great that things are looking up for her, though internationally. Maybe her overseas success will be proof enough that she is in fact talented and well loved. Maybe she will finally gain the recognition and love that she deserves right here at home. Until then, we wish Uncle Waffles the very best in her budding career, and hope that her team is good to her despite everything they have been put though.
