Despite the fact that gender based violence and other transgressions against women have long been a problem in South Africa, the recent death of Karabo Mokoena and subsequent crimes against women have the country fed up.
Men and women across SA are saying enough is enough and most are now looking for action based solutions to this problem that will bring about the change we hope to see.
One such person is former YoTV presenter turned Capricorn FM DJ, Hulisani Ravele.
Reading tweets y/day someone suggested that any info/helpful tweets about scams should have a # that one can search. I propose #SaveASista

She has been tweeting solutions and potentially life-saving information for the people who are looking to get hands on by asking "what can we do?" under the #SaveASista hashtag.

Gents asking how can I help? Know ladies in your street who walk from bus stops late? Offer to fetch them from the bus stop.
This has also prompted people to contribute to the conversation...
@HulisaniRavele Also boys should walk in groups with girls from school, protect your own.

Ravele has been tweeting solutions all morning and hopefully they are making the much needed impact they should.
Let's use our social media platforms to educate and inform and hopefully help protect us! You never know if your post could #SaveASistaSA.

Gents, you can't sit on the side and say you can't do anything when you can. Whether you but 1 pepper spray or 10, you helped.
Now that Ravele has done her part, she is asking you to do yours by contributing to the conversation and doing some of the things highlighted in the hashtag.
Update: proposed # is #SaveASistaSA because there are many tweets associated with the # already. So add the SA part. Love & light to you.❤️

Ravele isn't the only one who has had enough, Cassper Nyovest has also implored men to do better and get actively involved.
Ok enough with the "Not all men are trash" chats. Here's an initiative 2 raise awareness. Come support the #NotInMyName march on Saturday!! pic.twitter.com/rJtJpAWIVv
