According to Sunday World, the TV host who presents Mzansi's controversial cheating show Uyajola 9/9, has lawyered up against the channel after refusing to compensate him.
According to the publication, the channel is punishing Jub Jub for hurling insults at his female business partner, Keabetswe Mokoena, in an incident that took place in December.
The Ndikhokhele hitmaker and Keabetswe had a heated exchange on Whatsapp where Jub Jub allegedly called Mokoena's mom derogatory names. Apparently, things turned messy after the government hired the two to organize the Moses Kotane Arts Festival at the Moruleng Stadium, which was supposed to take place from 3 to 4 December 2022.
Jub Jub was accused of verbal abuse, harassment, emotional stress, and "substantial harm to her professional reputation and business", but he denied the claims and distanced himself from the matter citing "brand damage" as the reason.
“It has been brought to my attention that there are certain allegations leveled against me by an individual I believed to be my business partner with regards to the Moses Kotane Arts festival,” said the controversial musician in a statement.
“I’m not prepared to say much, except that the allegations are not true. When I started the project my vision was to uplift the arts and mend broken dreams in the community of Moses Kotane, where a lot of young people have lost hope. I thought that collaborating with certain individuals would make the vision tangible, but it certainly didn’t,” read part of the statement.
As a result of the allegation, the channel is allegedly refusing to pay Jub Jub his January pay. Sunday World reports that Moja Love CEO Aubrey Tau said that Jub Jub had violated the channel’s anti-gender-based violence policy.
“The CEO is a proponent of anti-gender-based violence and abhors the abuse of women and children. He felt Jub Jub should be punished severely as that would serve as a deterrent to would-be transgressors of the company’s policy,” said the channel’s executive.
It is believed Tau intends to terminate the presenter's contract, according to an executive who did not wish to be named for fear of victimization.
But, Jub Jub has escalated the matter with his lawyers Baloyi-Ntsako Attorneys, who have issued a letter to the channel, demanding payment of his January salary. According to the letter, Jub Jub's contract expires in March 2023 since he signed it in March 2022.
“The contract, on this score, was concluded on or about 18 March 2022. Our client was on those bases (sic) contracted on a permanent basis for a duration of 1 (one) year and thus the contract as aforestated still subsists.
“Quite shockingly and to his detriment, he informs us that to date he has not received his monthly salary for January 2023, and attempts to inquire were met with aggressive non-committal responses from both yourself as the CEO and the broadcaster legal adviser, one Advocate Nandi Ndaba.”
Moreover, Jub Jub's legal team has accused the channel of operating like a “spaza shop ”. In conclusion, the lawyers threatened to take the channel to court if they don't comply with the letter.

“A business of this magnitude, such as that of the broadcaster, Moja Love, cannot be run as spaza shop, it’s unprofessional, unethical, and completely abhorrent. It is our informed and considered opinion that the treatment you are subjecting our client under, inclusive of non-payment of his salary is unfair, unlawful, wrongful conduct and inhumane,” reads the letter.
