Following his suspension last December, musician and TV presenter Jub Jub is back in action as the host of the controversial infidelity-exposing TV show, Uyajola 9/9. The upcoming new season of the primetime reality show promises to be even bigger and bolder than ever before.
After months of speculation, Molemo Maarohanye popularly known by his stage name, “Jub Jub” has been spotted in public on a set of his popular reality TV show Uyajola 9/9. The singer – who was last reportedly suspended by Dstv channel Moja Love amid allegations of rape levelled against him by actress and media personality Amanda DuPont – has been spotted filming a new season of the hit show. The musician announced the news on social media with excitement and wrote on Twitter, "Back by popular demand. Beng’geke ngin’yeke nje (I could not just leave you)."
The channel also shared a clip of Jub Jub in an aeroplane with his whole crew of “Amaroto” ready for action. He further urges viewers and people confronted with cheating partners to get in touch in order for him to help expose their cheating partners.
Moja TV channels head Bokani Moyo also confirmed the news in a statement, saying, "Moja Love confirms that Jub Jub is back and shooting Uyajola 9/9." In the channel’s official statement released last December amidst the rape allegations, Moja Love wrote, “Jub Jub conducted an interview on Podcast and Chill with MacG, which aired pon Channel O yesterday, in his personal capacity. Moja Love was not part of the editorial of that interview and is not associated with the content thereof.” The channel since continued to exclude themselves from involvement with the presenter during the heated allegations and social media backfiring.
In December 2021, the channel suspended Jub Jub after media personalities Amanda du Pont and Masechaba Khumalo accused the Ndikhokhele hitmaker of rape. At the time, Moja Love said it did not "condone any gender-based violence in any way and under any circumstances." However, Moyo said they brought him back after he went through "stringent sensitivity training" as was required of him by the channel.
"He has also apologised and withdrew his harsh statements, especially to the mother of his child, Kelly Khumalo. Jub Jub has requested that he deals with personal matters privately and has assured us that this will not interfere with his work, and as the channel, we respect that."
"Viewers can expect Jub Jub at his best as he exposes extramarital affairs and brings abomakwapheni (concubines) to light," Moyo added.
In 2012, Jub Jub was sentenced to 25 years in jail for murder, attempted murder, and other related offences. The murder conviction was overturned in 2014, and he was released on parole in 2017 after serving four years, one month, and one day of his reduced 10-year sentence.
Loyal fans and viewers of the controversial show have also shared their excitement for the rerun of a new season on social media proving that the show will once again dominate primetime viewership and trends list on Sunday evening.
