Whoa! It's still January and things are already heating up in ZAlebville.

Tv actress and fitness guru Khabonina Qubeka has come out guns blazing to put a Johannesburg-based hospital on blast. This after her placenta was allegedly disposed without her consent at the Life Bedford Gardens Hospital

The actress, who gave birth in 2018, had signed on the dotted line for the hospital to preserve her placenta, but the hospital failed to stick to the agreement.

Khabonina explained that she felt her rights were violated because she wanted to keep her placenta for cultural, educational, and business purposes. However, due to the hospital's negligence her aspirations have been violated.

"When you sign a legal document with a hospital to save your human tissue it’s your human right, women's right, cultural right and civil right,” she said. The placenta was allegedly a big gig feature because she was working on a TV show centered around the health benefits of preserving placenta," she said.

Gossip mongers alleged that Khabonina had already spent 20 million on production. Now the hospital's negligence has forced Khabonina to file a lawsuit of a whopping 40 million for violating her human rights.

The star took to Instagram to set the records straight on all details pertaining to her placenta drama. She said after a month she gave birth she went to the hospital to collect a document which would have enabled her to get an affidavit from the police in order for her to collect her placenta, but was told the placenta had been disposed.

This raised eyebrows and left the choreographer devastated because the hospital had promised to temporarily store it for her by freezing it.

“I felt the need to preserve my placenta because this was my first pregnancy, and I have no idea if I will ever be pregnant again. So for me this was a chance to explore the full avenues of my pregnancy. A placenta is the child's blanket and culturally it benefits the child and the entire family," she explained.

The issue is now probed by the Cultural and Linguistic Organization (CRL) which has prioritized to get at the bottom of the issue. Khabonina, who is usually boisterous and has a tell-it-like-it-is attitude, said that bringing the matter under the spotlight was a decision she made to teach other women about the importance of a placenta.
