Lasizwe Dambuza recently admitted that he was having a tough time dealing with the death of Riky Rick. But it seemed that we did not get the full scope of how bad it has been for him, as he recently had something like a panic attack online.
The comedian recently went on live on Instagram, where his fans and followers watched him have a breakdown. He was cleaning his pool when he got overwhelmed with emotion and thoughts of Riky, and he could not contain it.
“The fact that he had no one to speak to… no one knew that he was actually dying inside. I went through that; I know how it feels like. I know how it feels like to die inside and have no one to talk to, no one to understand,” he said, in tears.
“This sh** is f***ed up because in our industry people feel like it’s all good… People need to start understanding that depression is real. The moment we start taking it seriously like how we take cancer seriously is the moment we are going to have less suicidal cases. Men are scared to speak out. They feel like they need to bottle it up, they need to drink alcohol, get bad b****yes and that's it, and that’s wrong,” he continued.
The video has his fans very concerned about him, and calling for those close to him to check up.
Perhaps Lasizwe needs to take some time off social media to heal and sort through his feelings about Riky’s passing. He is taking it all rather hard, although we all are. Riky was such a talent, a bright star, and a seemingly great soul, and his death shocked us all.

Fans have been expressing their concern for Lasizwe. Other than the news being shocking on its own, Lasizwe is particularly affected because he has struggled with depression himself.
He recently had an actual physical reaction to the news, as he shared a video of his hand twitching, showing that his entire nervous system was overwhelmed with grief and anxiety.
Just a few months back, he talked about his own struggle with depression and some really dark thoughts. It had gotten so bad that he got himself checked into a mental health institution, so that he could get the care and treatment he needed, and also so that he could be monitored and assisted in a timely and sensitive manner.
He seemed to be doing much better since he was discharged from the hospital, but now this shocking news seems to be setting him back a few steps. We hope his friends and family can reach out and rally around him.
