Podcast and Chill with MacG continues to claim its casualties, and it looks like Lerato Kganyago is the latest one.
In usual MacG fashion, he had an episode on Monday where he reviewed and gave his opinion on everything that went down in the previous episode. This time, he had LKG on the episode with him, as they discussed the messy week that saw Natasha Thahane spill more beans than she probably intended to.
Unlike what fans have come to expect, though, LKG did not spill any tea that could incriminate her. She kept cool and collected, even while they all had a good time.
But if you think that would deter Mzansi from finding drama anyway, think again. Social media users have taken offense at her remarks regarding Natasha Thahane and the R1 Million scholarship saga. If you are not caught up on that, have a look.

When addressing the Natasha saga, LKG said that if one has a way to use the people around them to level up, then by all means, they should. And it is this statement that has incurred the wrath of social media users.
Tweeps think it is morally irresponsible for someone of Lerato’s standing to speak so casually about clear corruption, and that it should not be taken lightly. They also believe that she has basically implicated herself in a similar corrupt deal, seeing as she has family working at SABC, and has made it herself in the media industry.
But Lerato is not taking these accusations lying down. She has come out guns blazing to defend herself, refuting the claim that she has family at SABC. She has rebuked those who seek to create drama out of nothing, calling them out for deliberately taking her comments out of context.
Tweeps are still confused as to what exactly the real context is, and whether taking the statement “in the right context” justifies her condoning corruption. Lerato now insists that the people should shift their focus to the people doing the actual corruption, and stop dragging innocent bystanders into unnecessary drama.
However, LKG should understand why Mzansi is angry at both Natasha and herself. It would be super frustrating to keep applying for opportunities you are certainly qualified for, only to miss out on them because they were instead handed to someone with connections. Tweeps are also convinced that she has an uncle who heads the SARB, and the fact that she denies it now, makes them even angrier.
The media personality may need to come out and clarify where she stands on the whole matter of corruption. It is clearly close to many tweeps’ hearts, and is not going to just go away because she wills it.
