Nadia Nakai's bae Vic Mensa has been cast to star in an upcoming ProKid biopic. The late rapper lost his life in August 2018 and left a huge hole in the South African rap industry. Now, to commemorate his life and successful career, a biopic in his honour is under works.

In 2019, Tbo Touch announced that there will be a movie which commemorates the late rapper and that people who wished to be cast can audition. The film was going to be named Dankie Son, which was the late rapper's famous line, "Auditions for the movie #DankieSon in July you heard it first on #TheTakeoff," wrote Tbo Touch at the time.
A few weeks after Tbo Touch announced this, his former manager Sidney “Sidmoney” Hall, told SowetanLive that the film would be put on hold whilst he consults with his family.
His family was not in support of the film saying Pro's daughter Nonkanyezi is the legacy holder and people should be mindful of that.
Now, it seems as though Nadia Nakai's bae will be cast in the film and he takes on a lead role.
A blogsite Black Film and TV announced this adding that the film is all about the rise of Hip Hop in South Africa, during the post-apartheid Renaissance era. Vic Mensa will play a Howard University alumni Syd Money AKA Sydney Hall. Syd worked with ProKid on his 2005 album, Heads and Tales.
The film will not be named Dankie Son, however it is produced by an American award-winning producer Ruth E. Carter, and it is titled African/American.
“I am excited to tell this dynamic story about survival and cultural identities. African/American ignites the sense of right place, right time in a way that makes you believe that you can do anything you set your mind to,” she told the publication.
Mzansi though is not happy about this, saying a South African should be cast in this film as it speaks about the African rapper.
Previously, we reported that Nadia and Vic Mensa manage to keep their relationship spicy by sending each other nudes. She also said that communication is also key in keeping the relationship alive.
Nadia has been battling COVID-19 saying she had no symptoms of contracting the virus. She took to IG to warn her fans about staying safe during the pandemic. "So I just wanna let you know that I have tested positive for COVID I have zero symptoms which is crazy. I know I sound nasally but it's not real."
"I just wanna let you guys know that you should still be careful because you could be carrying the virus without even f*cking knowing. The f*ck COVID. Anyway, I'm fine, my family is fine and I'm recovering even though I don't really have any symptoms. So now I'm just taking thotty pictures in my house cause I'm bored," said Nadia.
