The rapper has been in the industry for a long time, however, it seems that he is only now coming to terms with his hip-hop lifestyle.
In a recent interview on Massiv Metro Maggz shared that this particular life can be stressful for him and that sometimes his contribution is not well received by fans.
“Hip-hop sometimes can be stressful, you feel like you wanna quit and the fact that I’m still here after all these years and I didn’t quit….sometimes I’d release an album and things didn’t go my way. I guess fate was throwing me some other cards...it also shows my love for the game.”
Speaking on his life in hip-hop, Maggz went on to add that he felt that him not ‘gassing’ himself up might be a problem with his fans.
“Artists come and go in this era. I’ve maybe come to terms with the fact that hip-hop is ego based, it’s very macho and all that stuff, so I guess if you’re like a modest person sometimes people overlook you, maybe that's been my problem, I’m not all over gassing myself. I’m a very confident person, but I’m not an arrogant person, maybe sometimes that impedes the way people look at me.”
Maggz went on to share that it doesn’t feel good for him to be overlooked in the industry, especially with all he's contributed to the hip-hop community
"To be honest, it’s not a great feeling to be overlooked, especially when you know what you’ve done for the game, what you’re capable of...I always have this thing of, sometimes you have closet fans...these people will never show you love in public but they’ll show you love privately…”
