Metro FM has finally revealed its lineup ahead of the beginning of the new radio cycle locally. The past month has seen the radio station confirm the exit of Wake Up on Metro FM main host Moeti “Mo Flava” Tsiki. A departure was not surprising considering the fact that his breakfast show failed to make an impact in the two years that he had held the helm.

For the most part, the shake-up did not produce many surprises. However, there was one in particular change in the roaster of the station that had many side-eyeing the station for not recognising the talent it has already. This was specifically referring to Mantsoe Pout

With the official statement on the 2023/2024 Metro FM lineup released, the statement expressed the intention of this lineup by sharing a quote from its Business Manager Ms. Kina Nhlengethwa who stated:

“The station is making a concerted effort in investing in the best talent that will carry its strategy forward. This investment will allow the station to carry out its mandate to both listeners, clients, and strategic stakeholders. We remain committed to delivering exceptional content, with a focus on creativity and innovation.”

However, when it was discovered that Metro FM’s Weekend Breakfast co-host and the host of the Tuesday evening Let’s Talk Host Mantsoe Pout was relegated to the weekend graveyard shift with the show The Boomerang on Saturdays and Sundays between 00:00 and 03:00, some listeners and members of the public felt some type of way about it.
This is as Montsoe has over a decade of radio experience having worked with greats like DJ Fresh and starting out with the likes of best friends 94.7’s Thando Thabethe and Zweli B. All of which has since transitioned from co-hosts or hosting in timeslots like the graveyard shift.
It seems that Mantsoe has to start again at the bottom in order to prove herself. However, considering that she has been on the station for just over a year, this might be a test to see if she has it in her to helm a three-hour-long show. Maybe soon, she too will be like Thando Thabethe, who joined 94.7 just as Mantsoe was leaving.

As reported back in 2021:

Twitter users have expressed their excitement for radio personality Mantsoe Pout. The former 94.7 radio host announced that she is back on radio 4 months since her departure from 94.7.

Mantsoe said she has joined a new radio station and she is excited about her new journey.

She tweeted: "After 4 months of no radio, I'm proud to announce that I'll be joining a brand new Joburg radio station, STAR FM as the host of their lunchtime show, #StarLunchWithMantsoePout Confetti ball I'm so excited about this venture! Catch me on 91.9 from July 1st!"

Tweeps could not contain their excitement, @Rudzi_N responded: "Yassssssss!!!!! Welcome back pout! Now we just need DJ Fresh and all my fave people will be back on the Radio!! Nothing better than Greg and Lucky back as a duo too!!!"
