It's been a few days since the untimely passing of House vocalist - Nichume Siwundla who was found dead at her place in Greenstone, Edenvale last week.
As messages of condolences continue to pour in from all corners of the country, Nichume's mentor and fellow musician - Mobi Dixon has come out to speak of this heartbreaking loss.
In an interview with Sowetan Live, Mobi Dixon shared that they didn't see this coming even though, in hindsight, Mobi acknowledges that there were subtle signs that Nichume was about to pass on.
Mobi shared with the publication that there were a series of events that he believes were preparing them for Nichume's transition.
He explained that he, Naakmusiq and Nichume were recording a song titled Camagu. In the song, Nichume sang about amadlozi [ancestors] and amasiko [traditional customs] to him that was a sign that the ancestors and God were trying to prepare them for Nichume's passing.
Mobi further stated that they were aware of Nichume's depression and that she was getting medical help for it but never in his wildest dreams did he think things were going to end like this.

"We didn't see it coming at all. We knew about the depression and that she was seeing doctors and taking medication, but we never thought she'd go so far. We thought she was in control. She was a fighter."
