More so in light of the negative that she faced in 2022, when the still unconfirmed suggestions that she was involved in an affair with married broadcaster, Smash Afrika. At the time, she had opted to take a sabbatical from social media. But she returned soon enough.

But now it seems that she might have needed more time away as concerns about her mental health and life have piqued in light of her recent tweets.

Concern over Msaki’s mental health and life rise.

Taking to social media, the first part of her recent tweet threads started with her penning that:

“Thank you. Thank you for everything. It’s all been a lesson. A painful one, but a lesson. Nothing is really bad. It’s just painful but I’m learning to breathe through pain in real time. So thank you. That’s all. Thank you for being part of the lesson.”

However, it was the second part of the thread which started rising alarms as she tweeted:
Thereafter, she shared a thread of all the other ZAlebs and personal friends that helped her in their own ways last year when she was facing whatever mental and life crisis that she seems to only be coming to terms with this year.
But that did not stop tweeps from rising their concerns about whether this was Msaki’s way of “ending things.”
Considering that it has been over 12 hours since her post, it does seem that she really meant it when she shared that, “I’m ok. Just saying goodbye.” More so as the musician has been named as the opening act for acclaimed jazz musician Gregory Porter when he comes to South Africa later this month to perform in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Moreover, her hiatus  might mean that the reclusive musician is currently working on music and is looking to immerse herself in making her next album. This is as earlier this month, she had teased an announcement, which she later revealed to be confirmation that she was in the studio working on her next musical body of work.
This comes as Msaki in 2022 had suggested that she was taking a break from music. As reported at the time:

This follows after making headlines two weeks ago for allegedly having an affair with a married man- Smash Afrika. The singer was unbothered by the claims. Taking to Twitter, Msaki addressed her fans asking about their health, and told them that nothing has changed.

"Nisafety guys? Nothing has changed here. I have nothing but love for you & I will always be focused on my attempts to write songs to encourage & to uplift. I know many of you see my heart. My devotion is to sing us better. That’s my purpose here. Namaste Otherwise. Love Msaki, " she tweeted.
