Nomuzi expresses her frustration at brands that are not playing fair when it comes to paying celebrities.
The power of celebrity influence holds no boundaries, so why do some South African brands think they can exploit our local stars? That’s the question Nomuzi ‘NoMoozlie’ Mabena had Twitter users pondering on Wednesday.
The TV personality took to the social networking site to express her irritation with brands who expect celebrities – with thousands, and sometimes millions of followers, to work for them for peanuts.
“I often get mad at the brands that offer peanuts for these deals but the real problem is the people that keep saying yes to the peanuts,” she tweeted.

Celebrities like AKAand Lerato Kganyago agreed and joined the conversation.
“LiSTEN!!! I’ve BEEN SAYING! Most SA brands have no respect! I would rather not have endorsements,” Lerato tweeted.
One Twitter user revealed that some bloggers have been known to accept chocolate baskets as payment for their services – probably out of desperation, and fear of losing potential future work.
But Nomuzi is not impressed with the exploitation and feels if you want to borrow celebrities star power then you should be willing to pay up. After all, you can’t pay the bills with chocolate baskets.
“Our industry will never grow dude. Y’all seriously killing us,” Nomuzi added.
See guys, it's not all glitz and glam when it comes to working in the entertainment industry.
