Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi is no stranger to controversy and click bait content on his timeline since his presumed retirement as a music executive turned social media commentator and instigator. But you would think that there is a limit to which Nota will not go in order to see his name on the trends list and this is where you would be wrong.

As if accosting JMPD officers, female media personalities, the physically impaired and his own estranged wife is not enough. Nota decided as the rest of ZAlebrity is focussed on dealing with the tragic news of Oupa “DJ Sumbody” Sefoka dying unexpectedly just hours before his much anticipated All White Party at Ayepyep in Pretoria later today. Nota decided that he would disrupt the narrative by painting a more “realistic” painting of the circumstances which resulted in the tragic passing of the producer-DJ and who might just be happy about the fact of death.
Nota implicates DJ Sumbody in own death and shades Cassper
DJ Sumbody’s death and the circumstances surrounding his death is still at the moment a mystery. What is known is that he and his driver had left a gig and were on their way to another gig. On their way while at the traffic light, the car they were in was blasted with a reported 30 bullets. Most of which were directed at the windows of the passenger and driver’s seat.
While the motive is unknown, Nota seemed to have his own speculation as to what would cause “someone” to hail bullets on the Monate Mpolaye hitmaker’s car. This is as he suggested that DJ Sumbody was affiliated to criminal activities due to his alleged aspiration for the “soft life.” As a result, Nota seems to suggest that what was the cause for DJ Sumbody’s death was his alleged affiliation with criminal activities. A fact which his followers lauded him for “being honest and brave enough” to say out loud during this sensitive time.
The statement comes as more details about just how well connected DJ Sumbody was. This is as he initially started out as a taxi marshall and quickly rose up the ranks before he diversified into music and becoming a club owner as he is the owner of the chain of nightclubs Ayepyep.
But seemingly fueled by his followers, Nota went a step further in terms of insensitivity. This is as he used the matter of DJ Sumbody’s untimely death to shade his former collaborator and assumed friend DJ Sumbody. This is as Cassper and Sumbody had toured and released joint music in the past. All before it was reported that DJ Sumbody was using Cassper for R5 million. As such, Nota suggested that Nyovest would be relieved that he is dead as he would not need to pay him back. Allegedly similar to how Nyovest felt when news of Riky Rick’s suicide and untimely passing made headlines.
Of course, Nyovest will probably not respond. But Nota joins Twitter trolls who seem to enjoy tearing into Mufasa by suggesting that he is vain enough to make the passing of DJ Sumbody about himself.
