Sunday World broke a story of Pearl's sexual harassment claims at the hands of her former manager at Metro FM. When the story broke, Pearl expressed joy that finally he would be brought to book as she had been silent for far too long.
I kept quiet for too long until media picked it up and never have I been grateful for that because it finally gave me the courage to speak out about the sexual harassment I was was subjected to at Metro FM. https://t.co/y5qgtEXGVn

Emails were leaked where the manager allegedly makes a sexual comment about Pearl which left her violated. Other incidences were brought to light by Pearl and the SABC has since reacted to the claims.
In a statement issued on Twitter, the SABC encourages other employees to take a stand and report such cases. "The SABC notes with concern media articles about the alleged sexual harassment case at Metro FM and the Tweet by Ms. Pearl Modiadie.
"The SABC views sexual harassment in a serious light and will use its internal policies and procedures to deal with this matter. The SABC encourages any employees subjected to sexual harassment to use the Corporationโs specific internal channels to report such cases," the statement reads.

Tweeps are not impressed by this because when contacted by Sunday World, Pearl alleges that she had informed the station manager but she swept it under the rug.
This is what Pearl told the publication; โMore than once, reference was made about my body shape and how โsexy it isโ. Uncomfortable sexual innuendos were thrown around during conversations, even in the presence of my now former colleagues.โ
โThere was also an incident where I had posted a bikini picture on Instagram and he inappropriately brought up a conversation about that picture and how โhot I lookedโ,โ she explained.
โThe last sexual remark he made was in an e-mail that other staff members were copied on. I responded that it made me feel uncomfortable and that I was tired of the sexual harassment I was subjected to. This e-mail was sent during my radio show and only one of the guys copied stood up for me.
โI had copied the then station manager in the e-mail and there was never a response from her. It was never addressed,โ she said
At the time, the SABC denied being made aware of this incident but now, have acknowledged it. Tweeps are fuming and have made Pearl trend.
You are not the first person to speak about the sexual harassment there and at SABC as a whole. There is a man who is suing his victim for speaking out. Yi film !!! https://t.co/6seXkE9rlN

If Ms Pearl Modiadie was sexually harassed and ignored by SABC officials when she reported the incident just imagine how many more woman have been Sexually Harassed and nothing was done about it because they are afraid of losing their jobs.

Do better. SABC.
Metro fm is a very dangerous place work at (Allegedly). Scandal after scandal. Unlike other radio stations.
Ms Pearl Modiadie desrves justice #JusticeForPearl https://t.co/CBramEJ4u7
Ms Pearl Modiadie went through the same thing those young intern women went through at MultiChoice, which Bra Rob fought hard for. Both these broadcasters must deal with sexual harassment very seriously!
