IOL reports that the duped college doesn't even have the right to award a doctorate in philosophy and is being investigated. According to the publication, the institution does not even have a website nor an education domain. Sounds hectic, doesn't it? The college is being investigated, according to Department of Higher Education and Training spokesperson Ishmael Mnisi.

“Kindly note that the Good Shepherd College of Religion and Training is not registered with the Department as a private higher education institution. We are currently investigating," he said.

According to the paper, it was difficult to reach the institution even for a response. We wonder how MamKhize has reacted to this situation and if she knew that the college was not registered.

When MamKhize announced that she had earned a doctorate, she flooded her Instagram account with pictures of the graduation ceremony. MaMkhize penned a heartfelt message to her late parents.

"Dear Mama and Papa. Here we are…your daughters are both doctors. I hope you and dad are watching over this moment and you are beyond proud. Thank you Lord for this day and thank you to oKhabazela ka Mavovo kayihlandla. It’s moments like this that I cherish from the bottom of my heart , being celebrated and acknowledged whilst I’m still alive. It’s official you can now address me as Dr President Shauwn Mkhize,"
she wrote.

Her family also hosted a graduation celebration party and it was a blast. Unfortunately, Mzansi didn't know that her Phd was fake.

Another star who recently received an honorary doctorate is legendary TV broadcaster Noxolo Grooboom. She received it from Rhodes University. Expressing her gratitude she said: “I feel so speechless; I am out of words to thank Rhodes University for the honour bestowed on me. Each event of my life is a life lesson that cannot be merely explained. Even though I had minimal opportunities to further my studies, it seemed as if my dreams about my future were perishing. Today, Rhodes University teaches me that hope is always ignited when it seems as though your dreams are perishing.

And when that hope is ignited, it leads you to a new dream. Today, I feel like I am a living example to the youth. This is because, when you devote yourself to your work, new opportunities open up. I am very thankful to Rhodes University for this opportunity. Only a wicked person despises success. Lastly, my fellow people, I would have failed if I did not express my sincere gratitude to my home language. I am being honoured today because of isiXhosa,
” said Grooboom.
