The show comprises of ten one-hour episodes. In a press release, E! Entertainment said production will begin next month in Johannesburg and the show will premiere in early 2023 on E! (DStv Channel 124).

Celebrity Game Night – based on the Primetime Emmy Award-winning NBC series Hollywood Game Night – brings the who's-who of Mzansi together for an evening of non-stop entertainment with your local favourites. The hit series has just received its second SAFTA nomination for Best International Format Show, an award it won in 2020.

There’s no shortage of laughter as host Anele Mdoda and the team captains, Ayanda Thabethe and Jason Goliath, return to lead the way as celebrity guests go head-to-head in outrageous party games that test pop culture knowledge, acting skills and require nerves of steel. Battling it out in the third season were guests including Lira, Minnie Dlamini Jones, Skhumba, Lunga Shabalal and Boity Thulo. The previous two seasons welcomed Unathi, Dineo Langa, Ice Prince, Maps Maponyane, Kwesta, Kelly Khumalo, Thando Thabethe and Lerato Kganyago.

…and the fourth season promises more hilarious antics with a new batch of celebrity guests!

“We’re delighted to bring a brand-new season of our award-winning original production Celebrity Game Night, which has just been nominated for its second SAFTA, to E! Africa,” commented Lee Raftery, MD Europe, Middle East & Africa, NBCUniversal International Networks & Direct-To-Consumer. “Expect big celebrities, bigger games and most importantly the biggest laughs yet!”

Executive produced for NBCUniversal International Networks & Direct-To-Consumer, Celebrity Game Night is produced by Rapid Blue in Johannesburg. More details, including the celebrities participating in the fourth season, will be announced in the coming months.

The Hollywood Game Night format is distributed globally by NBCUniversal Formats, which is part of Universal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group.  The original NBC version of the series was created by actor/producer Sean Hayes and producer Todd Milliner and has since been adapted locally in Greece, French Canada, Spain, Iceland, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand to name a few.
