Speaking to TshisaLive, Shauwn said, “They wanted me to come in but by the time I was supposed to come in, that's when I had my issues with soccer and had to buy a new club. I was committed to starting a new club so I couldn't be in Umkhokha.”
Rumours that she would be joining the hit television intensified when she was photographed with the executive producer for the show, Mandla Kheswa. She said Mandla is more of like a brother to her as they come from way back, so that does not mean she is working with him at the moment, but does not want to dismiss the possibility of that happening as anything is possible with her.
“Mandla is a brother so I can take a photo with him any time. We come from Lamontville so he's a brother. I don't want to say anything now but watch this space. Anything is possible with MaMkhize,” Mkhize told the publication.

Phil Mphela announced that she would be appearing on the show, but that idea fell flat, "Mamkhize on Umkhokha! Yep, I have it on good authority that the Businesswoman & reality star was slated to make a cameo on the hit series. The plan didn't pan out, but begs the question … is a career as an actress beckoning for Shauwn?"
People were not too open to the idea of her being on TV especially since her Uzalo role which she did not audition for.
MaMkhize had a man thinking she scammed him on Facebook but it was actually an imposter posing as her. She had informed Her fans countless times that she is not on Facebook or TikTok.
Sivuyile Sophi told Daily Sun, that he was scammed of his last R1 000 which was going to purchase school uniform for his kids.
"This person promised to make me R15 000 in three hours if I paid them R5 000. I didn’t have R5 000 but unfortunately, I invested my last R1 000,“ Sophi told the publication. “I saved R1 000 and I was planning to buy stationery and school uniforms in January. I kept searching for other ways to make money.”
“...by that time, I had deposited R1 000 and she promised me R5 200 within three hours,” he said when he noticed that he ws getting scammed was when he was asked to send his bank pin.
Sophi wanted his money back but unfortunately he could not get it. Instead he got blocked.
Shauwn distanced herself from this crime. But that's not the only negative attention her family has been receiving. Shauwn had to warn trolls to not involve her kids into any drama.
"Hand off my grandchildren!!!" she exclaimed. "I had such an amazing time with my grandchildren this past weekend. As a parent I think it is important that we protect our kids from unnecessary or premature exposure. These are kids guys and let’s not rob them of their Innocence by involving them in the “ cruelty” and the harsh realities of this world. I’d I would also like to request everyone to please respect the family’s decision to keep the kids away from social media. Thanking you in advance."
