Showmax continues to prove that it is working overtime to provide viewers a glimpse into Mohale and Somizi's highly publicized divorce following Mohale Motaung's explosive tell-all interview titled Mohale: On The Record.
Viewers may feel there is nothing else left to learn about the estranged couple after both have spilled the beans on their failed marriage, but the couple's divorce is getting a new doccie.
Showmax has just dropped the first trailer for Somizi & Mohale: End of the Road, an unauthorized documentary premiering on 25 August 2022.
“We must never forget the task God has given us,” Mohale texted Somizi on the morning of their traditional wedding. “Our wedding is going to be a story told in a way that will shake the entire continent and help people understand that loving a person of your same sex was never and will never be wrong.”

In 2020, when Somizi & Mohale: The Union set a then-record for the most first day views on Showmax, it felt like a historic moment: a mainstreaming of gay marriage on a continent where it’s still largely illegal, in a country where two men marrying each other was only legalised in 2006.
Somizi & Mohale: End of the Road unpacks their relationship, its public breakdown amid the leaked audio of Mohale accusing Somizi of abuse, and what this meant to fans and the broader LGBTQIA+ community in South Africa.
Somizi & Mohale: End of the Road follows on from the reality series Living The Dream With Somizi S5 and the tell-all special Mohale: On The Record, which respectively shared Somizi and Mohale’s conflicting perspectives. Both titles topped the charts on Twitter and Showmax on their release.
The documentary is directed by Teddy Geldart from Dopezuluboi Productions who worked with Somizi on S5 of Living The Dream With Somizi and Mohale: On the Record).
Somizi & Mohale: End of the Road will draw on MultiChoice’s extensive archive footage of the couple, as well as new interviews with the likes of Letoya Makhene-Pulumo, Jackie Phamotse, Sol Phenduka, Langa Mavuso, Peace Maphalu, Prof Cameron Modisane, Tshiamo Modisane, MaBlerh, Lumko Johnson, Yaya Mavundla, Gabi Mbele and The Citizen’s Sandisiwe Mbhele - because there are more than two sides to every story
Recently, Mohale revealed bruises he sustained during an alleged domestic assault. He also revealed why he did not file a criminal complaint against Somizi in his tell-all interview with Aldrin Sampear, which lasted almost an hour on Showmax.

“I didn't open a case because he would always tell me that he would change and I knew what would come with the case and it's never easy to just go to a police station and say that "a Somizi Mhlongo abused me." I told the people around me," he said.
