Anele Mdoda has been spearheading the promotional trail of the show as she is one of the executive producers of the show through her co-owned production company Rose and Oaks Media. As reported at the time:

There was a discussion of the IP licensing rights and the manner they were obtained. This is as one tweep suggested that they were slighted by the commissioning editor when they proposed the show back in 2022. However, Anele was not having it as she took to Twitter to make it clear that she got the rights from Fremantle back in 2019 to have the show have its South African version.
Now, as the general public wait for Saturday, 3 June 2023 for the debut episode of the local spinoff which is set to air on channels SABC 1 at 18:30, SABC 3 at 20:00 and repeats from every following Thursdays on SABC 1 at 21:30. Mdoda and her team have shared the logistics of bringing the show to life.

A look at the making of
The Masked Singers SA

Earlier this week, Anele Mdoda took to Twitter to share a look into the making of the impressive stage and set where all the action is set to take place. As such, Mdoda explains:

“The stage conception was something that was big and wild, and and without limitations and and something Franky (co-executive producer of the show) likes to talk about is that, “you can’t dream the budget,” right? And there is a healthy balance of, you know, dreaming and really being ambitious, us, as partners of Franky and Paul (fellow co-executive producer of the show under the same production company).

Moreover, the clip explains the design was done by Michael Gill of Michael Gill Designs, who conceptualised and actualised what the stage will look like.
Since then, the team have shared the makings of the various costumes which will be worn by the celebrity contestants on the show. Mdoda took to her caption to share more details by writing:

“A very big part of The Masked Singer is… the masks! Hollywood Costumes got the brief and beyond delivered. I loved watching the bond they formed with each celebrity.

It's an intimate thing knowing the only people who have the power to build a mask that will hide who you have been your entire life but drop a few clues about you so the mystery game is fun, is these ladies.

Heidi and her team were on standby to get the celebs in the masks and out of the masks. I also witnessed a few mayday maydays with horns and sparkles falling off after performances “
