Reports have emerged that Sthembiso “SK” Khoza, who plays 'Shaka' on The Queen, has been shown the door by the show effective immediately.

The actor’s time on the show has been hanging on by a bare thread for quite some time now. Fans have been calling for his cancellation ever since he came online to confess that he had been emotionally abusing his then fiancée, dental practitioner Ayanda Hlongwane. In the since deleted Instagram post, he said he had been taking his frustrations out on her, and he had just realised it was wrong of him.

Shortly later, reports emerged that he had gone further to physically assault her too. The news broke after he was allegedly arrested when Ayanda filed assault charges against him. Although neither of them would address the incident directly in public, they deleted pictures of each other on their social media pages and unfollowed each other. Fans took this as confirmation that the two had broken up.
Tweeps were largely sympathetic to Ayanda following the alleged incident, and they came out to offer support. The biggest outcome of the saga, though, was the rallying cry by tweeps, for SK Khoza to be cancelled.

Well, the efforts seem to finally be bearing fruit, as he has been fired from the show. The role of Shaka is no more, as SK leaves, which fans see as a great move. Some had suggested that the role was getting to his head, and he was getting into more trouble with the law just like ‘Shaka’ does.
According to sources, he has been axed by the show because of the pending assault case against him. Multichoice, Mzansi Magic’s mother company, supposedly made the executive decision to axe him. It is likely that they are not willing to be associated with the actor any more because his public image is taking hit after hit.

Fans have no sympathy for Khoza for the loss of his job. Many have taken to social media to say that he only has himself to blame for the boot. Some even think that he should have been fired sooner, as they were sick of seeing him on their screens already.

They also think he was given enough chances to change his ways, but completely refused to learn from his mistakes. Karma is finally catching up with him, and the fans couldn’t be more excited. Their only regret is that the show had to wait for Multichoice to intervene, instead of making the vital decision themselves.
They are now rallying for the next person who can take over from him and play the role of Shaka on the show. Among those fronted by tweeps is Abdul Khoza, who plays the role of Qaphela on Isibaya.
