The show issued a statement on Thursday, announcing that the actor is the latest star to join the Scandal family. However, the announcement has left Twitter users foaming at the mouth.

According to the statement, Sebotsana plays a dangerous prosecutor- who is known to release SA’s most dangerous criminals back to society for a fee.

"The infamous Amo has been released from jail and shook the Scandal! audience! This saw Hlengiwe re-live her most traumatic experiences. Being the great investigative journalist she is, Hlengiwe has no choice but to investigate how Amo really got an early exit from prison.

Sello Sebotsane, who plays the dangerous and corrupt Prosecutor, is known to release SA’s most dangerous criminals back to society for a fee. However, until now he has started to be thoroughly investigated by Hlengiwe which puts him in the spotlight after releasing Amo. Now he comes in to play to stop Hlengiwe from investigating. If investigations don’t stop, he will be forced to play dirty and might end up killing someone," reads the statement.
The show recently announced that Sello's ex-wife Shoki Mmola, had joined the show as reverend, Prudence Molepo. According to the show, Prudence is a woman of the cloth who has wholly given her life to the faith. She holds herself in high regard and expects others to do the same for themselves. But, she stands on moral high ground to mask her own flaws. The Reverend is a strict mother and can often be too hard on her children. In her eyes, they cannot be failures because they were birthed by a woman who is molded in the image of God.

Avid watchers of the show are appalled by Scandal's decision to cast Sebotsana after he was accused of domestic violence.

Shoki and Sello were married for 10 years, until their nasty split in 2018, after abuse allegations leveled against Sebotsana. During a recent interview with Drum Magazine, she revealed that she and her children suffered abuse during the marriage.

“My girls are now safe and attend the Teddy Bear Clinic, a foundation that helps kids who have either been abused or seen abuse,”
said Shoki.
