Tbo Touch has hailed Zola7 for picking himself up. Ailing Kwaito star Zola 7 has gotten his groove back after being down and out for a while.
Getting his head back in the game, Zola is now performing and interacting with his fans. He recently performed at the Night with Legends concert on Saturday 1 October to welcoming fans.
Tbo Touch gave the Kwaito star his flowers in a lengthy Instagram post and called him a living legend, “We serve a God of 2nd, 3rd and 4th chances, we can never reflect on the evolution of urban culture and not mention Zola’s name. Every Friday from 16:00 to 17:00 on The Touchdown Metro FM we do the legends hour,” wrote Tbo Touch.
“This event is a culmination of consistent quality radio driven by life-changing features. Many thought he would never walk, sing and perform ever again but sometimes life has a way of reminding us that God is on the throne!!!”
This historic event was hosted by the man himself as part of the Metro FM’ family. Performing at the event was Tbo Touch and saw performances from the likes of Arthur Mafokate, Mdu Masilela, DJ Oskido, Thebe and TKZee’s Kabelo Mabalane. Zola 7 was a surprise guest who shook the crowd.
Speaking to The Afropolitan organisers spoke so proudly of the genre.
“We want to bring back the ‘kwai-ness’ of this genre and have masses dancing to the beat. The uniqueness of kwaito music is that it has given birth to other genres today – it is the mother of dance music here in South Africa and its sound is uniquely Mzansi,” they said.

Zola 7 admitted himself that he feels brand new as he bounced back.
This comes a few months before he was said to be sick and suffering. But he laid those rumors to rest and denied being very sick. He had previously opened up about being epileptic.
“I've received hundreds of texts asking for my banking details. I see I'm trending on Twitter and plenty of people are offering financial assistance as gratitude. I've never expected anything in return for the help I've given people in need, but this is truly humbling," he wrote.
“Initially I rejected this notion ngoba I'm a proud nguni man kodwa futhi kuthiwa ungabo jikisa isipho osphiwa sona. Ngakho, ngiyabonga Guluva Nation. I can't respond to all of you kodwa here are the banking details eniwacelile.”
He was also rumored to be going into rehab but no details about that were revealed.
He was also rumored to be going into rehab but no details about that were revealed.
It all started when Zola did an interview with Mach on podcast and Chill where he spoke about his illness.
“I lost a lot of weight over the past year. I was extremely sick, I was home and I was shaking. Everybody around me was scared I was going to die. I couldn’t eat well. I was eating Mageu, porridge and Fish.
“Nowadays I have to take medication twice a day just to get by,” he continued. “I was very sick during that song - with Cassper - and I think we did about 25 cuts. I was fighting to look normal, but I wasn’t. I was extremely very sick during that video.”
