We don’t have that many red carpet events in South Africa, but when we do, our favourite celebrities know exactly what to do.

They show up dressed to the nines, they don’t commit fashion offences and always create a fashionable moment to remember.

Here are a few of our best dressed local celebrities.

Lalla Hiranyama

The TV presenter and personality isn’t afraid to take a fashion risk.

Her bright, bold and fashion-forward choices always make Lalla a red carpet favourite at glamorous events.

She’s always mixing up prints and colours, and not shy to show off her assets, like her legs, in mini dresses or long slits.

He always looks sleek and suave, like our very own 007. And he has the gift of pulling off every colour he gets dressed in – blue or pink, sometimes even brown or a splash of all colours in a Hawaiian shirt.

Sarah Langa Mackay

The fashion influencer loves labels. And on her social pages she invites her fans into her fashion world of dresses, labels and style.

She’s a fashion and brand influencer with Scotch and Soda and Woolworths – and she deserves all of the fashion accolades that’s available. Sarah isn’t afraid to mix it up and try fashion trends, like mixing high fashion with the ugly sneaker trend.

She’s always hitting the right fashion note proving that style is always fashionable.

Minnie Dlamini-Jones

When it comes to her fashion choices, Minnie always has the tongues wagging.

Some of her most memorable fashion moments was in a gown by Gert-Johan Coetzee.

And her hair and make-up always compliment her look.

Jo-Ann Strauss

She’s often heard saying that shoes are her favourite part of fashion, and she plans her outfits around them.

From bold colours and exciting prints, from evening wear to jeans and heels, she knows what fashion works for her, and it’s these decisions that gets her nods on best-dressed lists.

The actor and TV presenter is an innovator when it comes to his fashion choices and his red carpet looks

He is always showing the industry and his fans why he is the style icon South Africa deserves. A fashion risk taker, Somizi can get away with anything that would look out of place on most other people.

And the bigger the better – scarves, tulle, hats – he does it all.

Bonang Matheba

Queen B rules the red carpet.

Often seen in a Gert-Johan Coetzee original, her cerise gown at her 30th birthday party is a classic.  All that pink and all that poof turned Bonang into a fairytale princess.

And even when she’s dressed in just jeans and a T-shirt or about to board an overnight flight for a glamorous overseas trip, Bonang looks like she stepped out of a fashion magazine.

She’s been known to fly in style from the United States, perfecting her look and making sure she’s always on trend, stylish and red carpet ready.

Nandi Madida

The singer and fashion designer is one of the country’s most stylish celebrities. She makes it seem all so effortless.

Her fashion line Colour, fits her like a glove - she’s truly the best model for her range that embodies effortless, timeless and chic style.

And he loves labels too, especially Gucci. He’s been seen on more than one occasion, wearing the Italian label from head-to-toe. And the fashion giant noticed.

Gucci even invited Riky Rick to their showcase of their latest designs at Milan Fashion Week.
