Ladies and gentle brothers (because masculinity is fragile)- news just in. The Metro FM Awards are allegedly headed for a comeback.
With this past weekends SAMA's celebrations, we're glad to see that Metro FM are ready to return and hopefully in a major way.

According to several music industry insiders from the country's leading recording stables, they have been unofficially been tipped to get ready to make artists' submissions to be considered for nominations.
The Sowetan has stated that the organizers are in the process of pinning down a date between August or September for the 17th installment of the awards- but its all very hush, hush.
It seems that the only set back delaying the announcement is they are still working on a few formalities when its comes to the venue. Seems like that's always the issue with these awards in particular.
Past Metro FM Award ceremonies were held in KZN in partnership with the municipality but they were left destitute last year by the cash cuts the KZN government put down.
So the show was thus postponed, leaving Mzansi a little sick from withdrawals.
But girl, money is tight for everyone-so we get it. We do what we have to do, right?

"The Metro FM awards remain one of the flagship events for the SABC and should the awards return this financial year, the SABC will communicate accordingly."
So it would appear that the news is still a little bit wavy and a little bit on the DL but we'll be clutching our pearls in anticipation waiting on the "official" announcement.
