Liverpool have dismissed head coach Arne Slot after two seasons in charge. The Dutch manager, aged 47, delivered the club’s 20th top-flight title in his first campaign, but results dipped in his second year and the Reds ended the Premier League season in fifth position.
Andoni Iraola, the Bournemouth manager who has since left his post, is now viewed as the leading candidate to take over at Anfield. Liverpool have already made contact with the Spaniard to explore the possibility of him stepping into the role.

Fenway Sports Group addressed the move in an official statement, describing the decision as hard to make. They also highlighted the standards Slot brought to the job, pointing to his work ethic, thorough preparation and the expertise he demonstrated in the role. FSG said their view of him as a leader in his profession was reinforced from the outset, noting that when they first met him it became clear he did not simply accept responsibility but actively embraced it.
