Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan secured victory in the women’s 100 metres hurdles at the Paris Diamond League on Sunday, running a season-best 12.27 seconds (+0.7m/s) to reinforce her position as the standout performer in the discipline.
The world record holder crossed first ahead of the United States’ Grace Stark, who finished in 12.38 seconds, while Alaysha Johnson of the USA placed third with a time of 12.39 seconds.
Amusan’s winning effort came just 0.06 seconds shy of her world record of 12.21 seconds, set in 2022, and it also matched the quickest mark recorded worldwide this season. It marked the third time in 2026 that she has produced a run in the 12.27–12.28 second band, highlighting her exceptional consistency as the track and field campaign builds.
The triumph is another boost for Amusan as she looks ahead to the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, where she is expected to defend her 100 metres hurdles title. She previously won gold at the 2018 Gold Coast Games and retained the crown in Birmingham in 2022.
