As the story continued to unfold, we learned that Thabo Bester had assumed the role of a billionaire businessman even before his escape. Thereafter, he continued to work under different aliases. All the time while being in a relationship with Dr. Nandipha. 

However, the two went on the run together, and were subsequently caught in Tanzania. A fact that many assumed made the couple our very own Bonnie and Clyde. However, as the two have since been caught and Dr. Nandipha has been remanded until Monday, 17 April 2023. The relationship between them seems not as ride-or-die as it was assumed.

In light of the arrest of Dr. Nandipha and Thabo Bester, the story of how they allegedly met has been circulated. It is believed that Thabo met Nandipha while she was an aspiring medical student who was working on one of his promotions gigs. 

What is unclear is whether Bester than funded Dr. Nandipha’s studies in order to make her feel like she owed him, and he owned her. However, it seems that this is the narrative that Dr. Nandipha is planning to pull as recent revelations seem to highlight the toxicity of their relationship.

This comes as leaked audio of Bester threatening Dr. Nandipha. It is unclear what the context of the actual audio was. However, it seems that Bester was insecure about Dr. Nandipha being in Johannesburg while he was at an undisclosed location. 

As such, he threatens to kill her if she is not as responsive as he wants her. Moreover, he relents that he has spies that are watching her every move and know where she is at all times. 
However, some of the public seem to believe that the leaked audio is a way of Dr. Nandipha starting her defence claims as to how she got involved and stayed with Thabo Bester in light of his terrible past. 
Moreover, there are suggestions that Dr. Nandipha went on the run with Bester because she was pregnant. This comes as the outfit that she was apprehended in has become of topic, specifically the baggy green Nike sweater she was wearing around her abdomen.
