Initially, it seemed that the breakup was amicable. However, it quickly became clear that this was not the case following the legal dispute between Murdah and his former friend and bandmate Thabo Smol. As reported:
Former Black motion group member, Morda, is said to have returned the equipment he was accused of stealing from the group. The news broke in December and fans expressed their disappointment that the group which was once known for producing nothing but hits, have resorted to hitting each other with lawsuits.

Spirit Motion, the record label, is accusing Black Motion of theft filed a lawsuit against Morda accusing him of theft of music equipment to the value of R243 312,30.
“Spirit Motion would like to state in a record that Black Motion members Thabo Mabongwa aka Smol and Bongani Mahosana aka Murdahbongz have not parted ways. Black Motion still exists and has plans for more years to come.”
While Mohosana had continued to perform as a solo act, a recent viral video was released which had some fans thinking that he missed being part of the iconic duo.
“Tears of joy & freedom” - Murdah Bongz
Instagram publication The Hype Collector took to its timeline to share a now-viral video which saw Murday in tears during one of his recent sets. This is as the Black Motion classic Rainbow was being mixed by Murdah.
As such, when the video went viral it was assumed that he was missing his days as part of Black Motion. However, Murdah and his wife DJ ZInhle took to the post and first liked the post. Thereafter, Murdah took to his stories to share a cheeky response suggesting that it was “tears of joy and freedom” since leaving the group.
However, it seems that his fans did not believe this. More so as they took to his comment to request he tells the truth. Seemingly, the hope is that Murdah and Thabo might reconcile in the future and return to their original formation.
Currently, Murdah has been replaced by yet another prolific Afro-tech and tribal producer-DJ. As reported:
Problem Child is from Seshego who is said to have fallen in love with house music due to his older brother, who at 14 started his professional DJing career as a self-taught DJ playing at local outlets, parties and nightspots in Polokwane, hence his stage name.
In 2010, he released his first EP titled Mr Ten83 hence his Instagram profile. Problem Child and Thabo Smol have a longstanding friendship outside of their new partnership as seen through posts of them together before Problem Child’s confirmation as a Black Motion member.
