Problem Child Approved As Black Motion New Member

Black Motion was known as a duo which consisted of members Thabo “Smol” Mabongwa and Bongani “Murdah Bongz” Mahosana since the inception of the duo back in 2010. The award-winning duo was touted as one of the best live Afro-House duos to see in the whole continent. When in 2020, the celebrated ten years through the release of their studio album The Healers: The Last Chapter, nobody could have guessed that it would actual mark the beginning of the last chapter as the original composition of Thabo Smol and Murdah Bongz.

Black Motion officially splits

As shared in the article Black Motion Replaces Murdah Bongz which in part read like:

“When Mörda released his debut solo album, Asante, titled after his second-born child, the one he has with DJ Zinhle and not his first born, we should have known that something is off.

I hoped Black Motion stayed together, but Morder releasing his own music, unlikely that will happen. From the tracks I’ve heard Morder just sounds like “BM”.So his gonna get drowned out out by other Afro djs.The brand BLACK MOTION, is what stand out. We’ll soon forget about him.

It’s really unfair that People think Morda was suppose to be part of Black motion for the rest of his Life . What happened to Growth ?

This is as Black Motion are part of the Tastic Heritage Festival. As such, they were partaking in the promotional interviews ahead of the festival.

However, instead of there being Thabo Smol and Mörda, there was Thabo Smol and new member Kabelo Koma, who in the titles is confirmed as the “Member of Black Motion.” It also seems that part of the agreement of Thabo Smol conducting the interview was that he was not asked about the matter of the status of his relationship with Mörda as it was not even asked.

More than that, part of the indication that there might be more to the matter at hand is the fact that “Black Motion” also promised new music with an emphasis on drums, which is Smol’s speciality when it was just him and Mörda. Not much is known about Kabelo Koma or what he will bring to the group. But fans attending the festival are in for a surprise when they see that Mörda is not present for the performance.”

Problem Child approved as Black Motion new member

As predicted many who went to the multiple performances that Black Motion was booked for were surprised to see Kabelo “Problem Child” Koma as the official DJ to Thabo Smol’s drum playing. But what was more of a surprise was just how much appreciation and co-signs that Problem Child has received as he is touted as the ideal replacement for Mörda.

Anyway… welcome new member of Black Motion… Kabelo Kamo!!! Today at Kunye🔥🔥 pic.twitter.com/GfWCrSiSnD

But the question remains, who is Problem Child, as it seems that the producer-DJ who had created a name for himself as one of the best Afro-House DJs to come out from Limpopo is now propelled to mainstream success.

Problem Child is from Seshego who is said to have fallen in love with house music due to his older brother, who at 14 started his professional DJing career as a self-taught DJ playing at local outlets, parties and nightspots in Polokwane, hence his stage name. In 2010, he released his first EP titled Mr Ten83 hence his Instagram profile. Problem Child and Thabo Smol have a longstanding friendship outside of their new partnership as seen through posts of them together before Problem Child’s confirmation as a Black Motion member.
